Very often, the mattresses that come with beds look like what they are - solid chunks of foam rubber. Since innerspring mattresses were unknown until the 40's, a bed that's from an earlier time period should have a less squared-off look. Weevings offers custom made mattresses, in a choice of vintage style tickings and filled with natural cotton batting. Contact me for prices, you'll need to know length, width and height desired.
Smaller scale mattresses are also available, but not shown as yet.
Bed pillows, filled with a non-dusty "faux sand" are available for $8 each. Included is a pillow with ticking, and a pillowcase with or without lace trim. The faux sand enables you to tuck spreads, etc. under the pillow without it popping off the bed, and makes it easier to put a "head dent" in the pillow for that realistic touch. After all, if you had a porcelain head, would you care how soft the pillow was???
