quilts, many coverlet patterns have popular names, but not all do. This one was
found when I was looking for the oldest identified coverlet pattern. This dates
to the 1780's, and originated in Albany. I scaled it down from the original,
and it's my personal favorite to date. I don't know what the original weaver
called it (if he/she did), but I call it the Albany coverlet in honor of its
one is mitered to fit the 4-poster, but also comes unmitered, with fringe along
the sides, instead of at the foot.
