Blue Striped Blanket

This is another popular antique blanket pattern.  Indigo was the most common dyestuff used from the mid-1700's on, but it was used sparingly as dyeing is very labor-intensive.  These blankets are woven of rayon, then brushed for a wooly look. Dampened with plain water, the blanket will drape nicely on a bed or folded in a blanket chest. Available in single or double size, it is also available in forest green (less historical, but pretty), and brown.

Pillows as shown, are $8 each, and available with or without lace on the pillowcase. The pillows are available with light (faded) or dark ticking and are filled with synthetic sand (railroad ballast) so they'll look natural on the bed, and not pop off when you tuck the covers under.
